A snowy owl takes off from the roof of a home in north Everett on Tuesday. The owl was perched atop the roof for at least a couple of hours. Snowy owls are native to northern Canada and Alaska but sometimes venture south in search of food.
The owls are showing up across Washington state and the U.S. this winter as they migrate from arctic homes to winter hunting grounds. Read more about them in this recent Herald story.
