Monroe man held after threat to blow up CT buses

MONROE -- A Monroe man's complaints over bus service went from persistent to possibly criminal.
Monroe police arrested the man, 32, Thursday morning after he allegedly threatened to blow up Community Transit buses. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of threats to bomb, a felony.
Community Transit customer service agents received five calls from a man, complaining about bus service in Monroe. His complaints turned to threats, according to a police affidavit filed on Friday in Everett District Court.
Transit officials as a precaution diverted a couple of bus routes away the man's location; he was waiting at a bus stop in Monroe.
The man was still at the bus stop when Monroe officers showed up. He admitted that he called to complain, but he denied making any bomb threats.
His defense may hit a roadblock -- all the calls to the communication center are recorded.
