Dry country: Utah lawmakers are considering legislation that would require that at least two members of the state’s liquor commission be consumers of alcohol. The bill faces opposition in a state where 70 percent of the population are members of the Mormon church, which prohibits alcohol.
A compromise bill would mandate drinkers on the liquor commission, but they wouldn’t be allowed to say how much they enjoy it.

Over a barrel: Investors are snapping up oil contracts with the anticipation of making money if tensions continue to build between the West and Iran. The speculation has pushed oil to near last year’s highs.
If that makes you mad, get even with the speculators and Iran at the same time: slow down. Better yet: walk.
