SEATTLE -- The 8-year-old girl who was wounded in a Bremerton classroom is in serious condition after her fifth surgery at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg said Amina Bowman was returned to the intensive care unit after Tuesday's surgery.

Prior to Tuesday, the girl was listed in critical condition after the Feb. 22 shooting at Armin Jahr Elementary.

A .45-calber handgun fired accidentally from a backpack carried by a 9-year-old boy. He's facing weapons and assault charges. Prosecutors say they plan to seek probation and treatment for him.
