Blaze destroys home in Woodway

WOODWAY -- A fire Monday morning destroyed a Woodway home.
Investigators were trying to determine what sparked the 6:10 a.m. blaze in the 11400 block of N. Dogwood Lane.
The home was empty and the person who lived there was in a detached garage on the property, Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.
About 20 firefighters from District 1 and Lynnwood converged on the scene. Much of the home already was engulfed in flames, Hynes aid.
"The fire caused so much damage to the structure it became unsafe for firefighters to enter, so they attacked the flames from the outside," she said.
Within 40 minutes the flames were under control. No one was injured.
