How does living or working next to a train station sound to you?
Everett Transit wants to sell a large parking lot at Everett Station to a developer for $1.9 million. The city envisions a mixed-use development — perhaps a shop on the lower level with offices and/or apartments on top. The developer would be required to retain the same capacity for parking and that parking would remain free.
The property in question is known as Parking Lot A and it’s located on Smith Street between 32nd and 33rd Streets. It’s around 2 acres and has 242 parking spaces.
Working or living next to a transit hub might be appealing to people who don’t want to own a car, Tom Hingson of Everett Transit told me.
