Edmonds Conference Center: 201 Fourth Ave. N, Edmonds; 425-640-1243; artsnow@edcc.edu; www.edcc.edu/artsnow; “Who We Are” features paintings by Lynn Scott and Tracy Felix Fraker and artisan jewelry by Robin Westbrook. Scott paints still lifes without boundaries in encaustic or acrylic mixed media. Fraker uses various techniques in acrylic on canvas. Westbrook creates one of a kind, hand beaded, contemporary jewelry using mixed media and Swarovski crystals. A reception with the artists is 5 to 8 p.m. March 15 during Third Thursday Art Walk. Meyer’s Cafe: 1700 W Marine View Drive, Everett; 425-259-3875. weekdays 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artist Janet Myer uses diverse subject matter and media to convey recurring themes that reflect traditions and sometimes legends from the Cowlitz Tribe, of which she is a member. Schack Art Center: 2919 Hoyt Ave., Everett; 425-259-5050; www.schack.org; “Embracing the Edge, Working in Clay in the Pacific Northwest,”Coinciding with the 46th Annual National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, the Schack will present works in clay by established reputations and emerging talents — lending vitality and fresh perspective to the medium. Through April 19.

The Sisters: 2804 Grand Ave., Everett; 425-252-0480; 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. New exhibit by Matthew Waddington called “Life Drawings,” which describes the body of the exhibit, as well as a large part of Waddington’s portfolio — figurative works. Life drawing sessions are usually arranged for quick sketching of a model, using pastels, chalk, charcoal and ink handmade monotype — a unique Waddington approach. Through March 9.

With the one word “Sun” as a prompt, gallery artists have created works that in some way celebrate that golden orb, sharing a sunny glow in their bronze work, paintings, textiles, furniture and photography. Skagit County

Museum of Northwest Art: 121 S. First St., La Conner; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday; 360-466-4446; www.museumofnwart.org; “Yesterday’s Tomorrow” to March 14: A group show that reflects the Northwest’s rich history of embracing the traditions of industry and the innovations of technology. The artists blend past and future in a variety of mediums.

Also: Study in Blue from the Permanent Collection: A selection of artworks focusing on the use of the color blue and reflects artists’ relationships with water and sky of the Northwest. Through March 14.

Seattle

Admission $7 to $13, free ages 12 and under, first Thursdays free for all. “Gauguin &Polynesia: An Elusive Paradise,” a landmark show highlighting the complex relationship between Paul Gauguin’s work and the art and culture of Polynesia; includes about 50 of Gauguin’s brilliantly hued paintings, sculptures and works on paper.
