SEATTLE — Former Glacier Peak High School star Majorie Heard has decided to move on.

University of Washington coach Kevin McGuff announced after Wednesday night's opener in the Women's National Invitational Tournament that the sophomore forward has decided to transfer.

"Marjorie Heard is going to transfer and seek a new opportunity," McGuff said.

The 6-foot forward had a reduced role in McGuff's first season, averaging 2.3 points and 2.8 rebounds before suffering a season-ending knee injury in early January. She was expected to be UW's most experienced returning inside player but has decided instead to play for another program.

The Snohomish native averaged 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game as a freshman in 2010-11.
