Top gymnasts in Everett for Pacific Rim championships

The 2012 Kellogg’s Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships come to Everett’s Comcast Arena this weekend. Held every two years, the Pacific Rim Championships rank as one of the sport’s premier international events.

Quick facts

When: Friday through Sunday. Competition starts at 10 a.m. on Friday, 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Who: The Pacific Rim Championships feature gymnasts from 17 Pacific Rim countries: Australia, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Colombia, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Philippines, Russia, Thailand and the United States.

Format: Artistic and rhythmic gymnastics will have team, all-around and individual event competitions for both juniors and seniors. Trampoline has both men’s and women’s competitions.

Tickets: Single-session tickets range from $15 to $65, and all-session tickets range from $110 to $250 (including facility fees), and may be purchased at the Comcast Arena box office; by phone at 866-332-8499; online through www.comcastarenaeverett.com; or through participating area gymnastics clubs.
