Saturday is St. Patrick’s Day, the one day a year when everyone has a bit of Irish in ‘em.
Now, cue the corned beef, stew the cabbage, tap the Guinness.
If you’re looking over a four-leafed clover, or want to, plenty of Snohomish County restaurants and pubs are going green in a big way.
March 17 typically is one of the busiest days in the restaurant business, even when the celebration doesn’t coincide with a weekend like it does this year.
That means local watering holes likely will be overflowing with Irish-themed revelry.
Just remember, if you’re going to be drinking beer, whiskey or any other brew, find a leprechaun to drive you home.
Here’s a few places to get your green on in Snohomish County:
Leatherheads Pub and Eatery, 10209 270th St. NW, Stanwood: Music starts at noon and continues until, well, whenever the keg runs dry. There will be corned beef and cabbage, Guinness on tap and Guinness floats, green beer and leprechaun tossing.
Irishmen Restaurant and Pub, 2923 Colby Ave. Everett: Green eggs are likely to be on the breakfast menu when the Irishmen opens at 9 a.m. There will be live music all day long, corned beef sandwiches, Guinness beef stew, shepherd’s pie and Colcannon, a mixture of corned beef, cabbage, sausage and potatoes. The party is expected to continue all the way until 2 a.m.
Celtic Bayou, Irish Pub and Cajun Cafe, 19800 44th Ave., Lynnwood: Live music will play beginning afternoon. They’ll have special drink pricing on Irish whisky and lots of Irish food including corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, and shepherd’s pie.
Piccadilly Circus Pub, 1104 1st St., Snohomish: It may be a British pub, but on St. Pat’s Day, even the Brit find some Irish. Corned beef and cabbage will be featured along with Irish stew with lamb, onions and potatoes.
Shawn O’Donnell’s American Grill &Irish Pub, 122 128th St. SE, Everett: For the first time since they opened in 2006, St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday. Celebrations here started last weekend, but the big event is tomorrow. A breakfast buffet opens at 9 a.m. and the fun doesn’t stop until 1:30 a.m. Sunday. There will be music, face painting and bagpipers. There will be plenty of corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, mashed potatoes, salads and homemade soda bread.
Mick Finster’s, 24001 Highway 99, Edmonds: Expect bag pipers, corned beef and cabbage, green beer and green girls!
