Ever wonder how (or if) porta-potties in remote areas ever get emptied? They do, and sometimes it’s by air travel. Pilot Tony Reece of Darrington plucks one of them from its spot near Spada Lake in these photos shot Monday by The Herald’s Michael O’Leary.
Reece took this Honey Bucket to the Sultan Basin Road to be cleaned and serviced, and returned a clean port-a-potty to the Spada Lake spot. The Snohomish County PUD has two on the east end of the lake, and they are emptied twice a year.
