Medlicott’s five points leads Stanwood past San Juan in boys lacrosse
STANWOOD — Frank Medlicott, Josh Smith and Michael Sams all scored a pair of goals to lead Stanwood to its third win of the season with an 8 – 5 boys high school lacrosse victory over San Juan, Thursday at Stanwood Middles School. The win evened Stanwood’s record at 3 – 3, while San Juan also evened-up in its loss. San Juan is now 2 – 2.
Medlicott, an Archbishop Murphy junior and team captain brought home a total of five points with his two goals and three assists. He also had seven ground balls; Smith and Samms combined for seven ground balls on the night.
Stanwood jumped to an early 4 – 2 lead in the first but, gave up three in the second to preserve a narrow 6 – 5 lead at the half. In the second half, Stanwood shut-out San Juan with solo goals in the third and fourth to advance to the win.
Tate Brumsickle and Sean Hills each had a pair of goals for San Juan.
Stanwood (3-3-0) next faces Skagit Valley (0-5-0), Tuesday, April 10 in a 7 p.m. start at Mt. Vernon High School. San Juan (2-2-0) next faces Providence (2-2-0), Saturday, April 7 in a 2 p.m. start at Friday Harbor High School.

Everett lacrosse advances to 5 – 1 behind Stringfellow’s four goals
EVERETT — Charles Stringfellow hit four goals as Everett secured its fifth win of the season with a 9 – 8 boys high school lacrosse defeat of Providence, Thursday at Walter Hall Park in Everett. With the win, Everett is now one game behind Cascade Conference leader Snohomish.
Stringfellow, an Archbishop Murphy senior, also had an assist and four ground balls in the win, while
Everett High junior Jared Hawkins had two goals and three assists and Jackson freshman Ian Strong had two goals and an assist. Everett senior Merrick Rutledge had 13 saves to keep is squad in the hunt. Providence was led by Luke Morris with three goals an assists and six ground balls, Bryce Hummel also had a goal and six ground balls.
Everett (5-1-0) next faces Ballard (3-3-0), Saturday, April 7 in a 3 p.m. start at Ballard High School. Providence (2-2-0) next faces Woodinville (0-6-0), Tuesday, April 3 in a 6 p.m. start at Woodinville High School.

Snohomish rolls past Edmonds in boys lacrosse
LYNNWOOD — Brandon todd hit four goals and Devin Remlinger and Austin Tippett each scored three as Snohomish rolled to a 16 – 4 boys high school lacrosse win over Edmonds, Thursday at Lynnwood High School. The win was the sixth of the season for the Cascade-leading Snohomish program. Edmonds slipped to 4 – 2.
Snohomish set the pace early taking an 8 – 0 lead in the first before settling for two goals in the second and a 10 – 1 half-time lead. In the third, Snohomish again pestered Edmonds, burring five goals in the back of the net for a 15 – 3 lead heading into the fourth. Both squads hit solo goals in the final stanza to close out the scoring.
Snohomish goaltender Tucker Cooper had 15 saves in goal, while Edmonds’ Nick Peters, Josh Rutz, Josh Schleisman and Jordan Tindall all hit goals. Aric Bollinger had 10 saves in goal for Edmonds.
Snohomish (6-1-0) next faces Monroe (0-4-0), Tuesday, April 10 in a 7 p.m. start at Monroe High School. Edmonds (4-2-0) next faces Wenatchee (2-3-0), Saturday, April 7 in a 5 p.m. start at Wenatchee Valley College.
