2 Olympia schools briefly put on lockdown

OLYMPIA -- Two Olympia schools were put on lockdown after someone reported seeing a man with a rifle walking in front of one of the schools.
Olympia police say that officers responded to Olympia High School just before 2 p.m. Thursday after someone called to say they saw the man with the rifle walking on a road in front of the school. Nearby Pioneer Elementary School was placed in a modified lock down.
Olympia police, Tumwater police and Thurston County Sheriffs deputies searched the area but didn't find anyone. Units were at the school when classes were released at their normal time just after 2:30 p.m.
A message left with Olympia Police was not returned.
