EVERETT — A 40-year-old Everett man who wandered into both northbound and southbound lanes of I-5 Saturday night before being struck and killed has been identified as Shane A. Archey, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The accident closed the two right southbound lanes of I-5 Saturday night near the Boeing freeway, delaying traffic for several hours.
Emergency dispatchers first began receiving reports of a pedestrian on the freeway about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Trooper Keith Leary.
About a half hour later, troopers were told that a person had been hit in the southbound lanes near State Route 526 and was dead at the scene.
