How about going swimming today? Yes, indoors, and yes, it’s free.
Today is the city of Everett’s annual April Pools Day at Forest Park Swim Center. Head there between 12:30 and 2 p.m. to take a swim and learn about water safety.
All ages are invited to join in water-related games, learn the proper fit for life jackets, ride in a kayak and take away all-important safety tips.
The event, sponsored by Everett Parks and Recreation and the Drowning Prevention Coalition, is an annual effort to reduce drowning deaths.
Forest Park Swim Center is at 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd., Everett.
A donation of money or canned food to benefit local food banks is the only admission.
Call the parks and recreation office at 425-257-8300, ext. 2, or go to everettwa.org/parks for more information.
