Closures planned on Highway 522

Highway 522 is scheduled to be completely closed for an hour in mid-morning both Wednesday and Thursday for road-related work.

Crews plan to close both directions of Highway 522 between Fales and Echo Lake roads and 164th Street SE from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. both days. The closure will enable crews to remove trees on two nearby rock faces scheduled for blasting later this spring.

The work is part of a $160 million project to widen Highway 522 and make other improvements. Rock blasting is expected to start as early as the week of May 21. Drivers can expect up to 150 weekday closures of Highway 522 through mid-2013.
