Woman surprises burglar, is stabbed in leg

TACOMA -- A Pierce County sheriff's spokesman says a 28-year-old woman who surprised a burglar in her home was stabbed in the leg when she wrestled with the man.
Spokesman Ed Troyer said the encounter took place Monday afternoon in Fircrest.
The News Tribune reported that the woman came home and found the man. Troyer said the burglar took several items after stabbing the woman. Her roommate found her a few minutes later.
She was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
