Arlington: Free art tour on Saturday
The Arlington Arts Council has collected more than 30 works of art over the years. The public collection is the focus of a free hour-long tour at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The art is all within walking distance of Arlington City Hall. The walk begins and ends at the Fogdog Gallery, 334 N. Olympic Ave. Kids under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.

Highland Christian presents play
Highland Christian School presents “Pride and Prejudice,” adapted by Scott McDade of La Conner from the Jane Austen novel. Directed by Jennifer Hudson, the play stars juniors Amy Zimmerman and Dakota Andrews as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday with a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday in the old Arlington High School auditorium, 135 S. French St. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for kids or $25 for a family of four.
Camano: Women’s Expo set for Saturday
The fourth annual Women’s Expo at the Camano Center is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, at 606 Arrowhead Road. Admission is free to see presentations by local businesses that serve women.
People can enjoy live entertainment, a fashion show, speakers, demonstrations, beer and wine tasting and raffles. Mammograms also are offered. Call 360-387-0222 for an appointment.

Everett: Chat it up with the school board
The Everett School Board is holding another in a series of informal community meetings to hear from the public on Thursday. The event, which begins at 7 p.m., will be at Gateway Middle School, 15404 Silver Firs Drive. It’s a chance for the public to talk one-on-one with board members.
Granite Falls: Apply to be a commissioner
Granite Falls Fire is accepting applications to fill a vacant fire commissioner position.
The Snohomish County Fire District 17 vacant fire commissioner position will be filled by appointment by the remaining two board members. The appointed member will serve until the November 2013 general election at which time the seat will be up for election for the remaining two years of a six-year term.
Applicants must be at least age 18, be a registered voter and reside within the fire district boundaries. A letter of interest must be submitted by 2 p.m. on May 23 to Fire Chief Jim Haverfield, P. O. Box 1049, Granite Falls, WA 98252 or in person at 116 S. Granite Ave., Granite Falls.
The board expects to select a qualified candidate and may schedule interviews at an open public meeting prior to making a selection.
