Boeing Boeing

Too late for the Nalley Valley Viaduct: A Port Orchard legislator is proposing selling naming rights to corporations for various state transportation projects, such as the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The hope is that selling rights to the "Boeing Bridge" or "Starbucks Expressway," for example, could keep toll fares down.

So, who's going to total up what Boeing owes the state for all these years we've called Everett's Highway 526, the Boeing Freeway?

Earning their winglets: Always looking for ways to improve its jets, Boeing announced it has a new wingtip design for its 737 MAX. The new dual-feather winglets, which point up and down, are expected to save an additional 1.5 percent in fuel use.

In addition to the fuel savings, airlines will be offered their choice of dipping sauce -- Buffalo, sweet and sour or ranch -- with their winglets.

No winglets for you, then: Occupy Chicago announced on its Facebook page that it intends to shut down Boeing's headquarters in the Windy City during a NATO summit there on May 21.

Occupy supporters who want to participate in the event can book their flights to Chicago through Capt. Buzz's Travel Bureau, guaranteeing round-trip flights on Boeing planes.
