SPOKANE — More than 50,000 people have registered to run in Sunday’s Bloomsday race in Spokane, one of the largest such events in the nation.
KREM reported that the numbers are down a little from last year, but organizers with the Lilac Bloomsday Association said the number could reach 54,000 by Sunday’s race time.
The record was more than 61,000 runners in 1996.
This is the 36th running of the 12k race through downtown Spokane.
