Front Porch: Adopt A Stream eagle show
The show will be at the nonprofit's NW Stream Center, 600 128th Street SE, Everett. Jeff Guidry, the president of the Sarvey Wildlife Care Center, and Freedom aim to teach everything anybody wants to know about eagle habits and habitat requirements, and the many steps taken to protect our national symbol.
Guidry has written a story about their friendship that has been chronicled in a book published by Harper Collins titled, "An Eagle Named Freedom."
Freedom and Guidry have developed an amazing bond. Freedom fell out of her nest in Edmonds as a fledgling and broke her wings. She was taken to the Sarvey Wildlife Care Center where it was determined that her wings could not be repaired for flight. The gravely injured eagle was not responding to care and not standing after seven weeks. The decision was made to euthanize Freedom if she could not stand on her own within one more week. Guidry was able to coax her to stand on the final day.
Reserve a space to meet Freedom and Jeff at the NW Stream Center by calling 425-316-8592. Tickets are $5 for Adopt A Stream Foundation members and $7 for non-members.
