Woman allegedly charged $470 on dead aunt's card

MILL CREEK -- A Mill Creek woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly using her dead aunt's credit card to spend more than $470.
The woman, 41, was booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of second-degree identity theft.
The woman's aunt passed away in April, according to a police affidavit. The woman's father was in charge of the aunt's estate, and he took possession of many of her belongings, including credit cards.
Without her father's knowledge, the suspect reportedly took the aunt's Discover card, according to court papers.
On May 9, the card was used to spend $242 at Nordstrom.com. The woman reportedly denied this purchase but admitted to others.
Over the next week, the woman spent more than $200 at Mill Creek-area grocery stores. Another $25 purchase was made elsewhere.
Grocery store surveillance video showed the woman using the card at least three times, police wrote in their report.
She also gave police permission to search her purse, where they said they found a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine.
