Police patrols to target drivers not wearing seatbelts

EVERETT -- Police are reminding people to buckle up.
Officers from around Snohomish County plan to participate in the "Click It or Ticket" campaign looking for unbuckled drivers and passengers.
Seat belt emphasis patrols are planned through June 3, marking the 10th anniversary of the current state seat belt law.
"We are getting the word out to remind everyone to buckle up so we don't have to write tickets," Snohomish County Sheriff John Lovick said. "The purpose of the law is to save lives, and I'm really pleased to see how far we've come."
