Downtown Everett in 1961
This weekend downtown Everett is alive with the rumble of hundreds of classic cars, part of the annual Cruizin' to Colby event.
Take a look at this photo from The Herald from 1961 during the heyday of cruising on Colby Avenue. Jack O'Donnell brought it to my attention. He lived along Colby during the '50s and '60s. During the day, downtown was filled with shoppers, but at night, downtown came alive with bumper-to-bumper cruising kids. He was one of them.
