MILL CREEK -- No one was home at a house that caught fire in Mill Creek about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Neighbors reported smoke coming from the eaves of the home in the 3100 block of 138th Street SE, said Autumn Waite, spokeswoman for Snohomish County Fire District 7.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke throughout the house and flames in the attic, Waite said. The fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported.

The family's cats were missing as of Tuesday evening.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Waite said. A damage estimate wasn't immediately available.
