Arlington: History program scheduled
Sisco Heights Community Club plans to host Fred Cruger of the Granite Falls Historical Society to talk about “History Goes High Tech.”
The presentation begins with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Friday with Cruger speaking at 7:15 p.m. The club house is located at 13527 99th Ave. NE.

Darrington: National Trails Day event
Saturday is National Trails Day, and people in Darrington are welcoming people who want to work on some of the trails in the Mount Baker- Snoqualmie National Forest.
People are asked to register today by calling 360-436-1155.
Volunteers are set to start the day right at 8:30 a.m. at the Darrington District Ranger Station, 1405 Emens Ave. N. People are asked to wear sturdy boots, long pants and work gloves and bring along a sack lunch. Carpools will take volunteers out to the trails along the Mountain Loop Highway.
When the work is done, the Darrington community plans to host a 4:30 p.m. potluck at the Mansford Grange, which is a short distance from the ranger station.
Everett: ‘Sing for the Cure’ benefit
Edmonds Community College Symphonic Choir, under the direction of Kirk Marcy, and Cascade High School Choirs, under the direction of Laurie Cappello, plan to present a concert, “Sing for the Cure,” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave.
Suggested donation is $7 for adults or $5 for students.
The concerts benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
‘Hot Coffee’ screens at theater
Susan Saladoff’s award- winning documentary “Hot Coffee” will be screened June 13 at the Historic Everett Theatre. The film details what happened to the woman who filed a civil lawsuit against McDonald’s after she was burned by a cup of coffee.
The free event is being sponsored by the Washington State Association for Justice, formerly the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association. After the screening, lawyers with the association will take questions from the audience about civil justice issues, such as tort reform and judicial elections.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with complimentary appetizers and beverages. The film begins at 6:30 p.m.
The theater is located at 2911 Colby Ave., Everett.

Tulalip: Free health screenings
The Tulalip Lions Club plans to host the Lions Foundation Sight and Hearing Van today.
Free sight, hearing, diabetes, glaucoma and blood pressure tests are scheduled to be available between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The van is set to be located in the Home Depot parking lot at 9310 Quil Ceda Blvd.
