She's one of the smallest bear cubs ever to go through PAWS Wildlife Center in Lynnwood.
The baby black bear weighs less than four pounds and is tiny enough to be scruffed like a puppy.
She and a male sibling were found orphaned May 19 on a highway near Corvallis, Ore. Both cubs were starving and weak when they were rescued by the Oregon Department of Wildlife. The male cub did not survive and it's unclear why the cubs became separated from their mother.
For two and a half decades, PAWS has helped rehabilitate sick, injured and orphaned bears. The surviving bear that the nonprofit has refers to as patient number 12-0790 is gaining weight and getting stronger every day. It's the 78th bear to be rehabilitated at the nonprofit.
