SPOKANE — Spokane police say a body recovered from the Spokane River is that of a 23-year-old man who accidentally drowned.
The Spokesman-Review reported that police believe Brent DeSouza entered the river early Sunday morning in Riverfront Park.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances. After hours of searching Sunday, rescuers recovered his body downstream on Monday.
The newspaper said DeSouza is a member of the Air Force, stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane.
