Chicago’s Epiphanny Prince and Los Angeles’ Nneka Ogwumike were named the WNBA’s Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week respectively on Monday.
It is the second honor in as many weeks for Prince, who is scoring at an alarming clip. She has led the Sky to a 6-1 record so far in 2012 and leads the league scoring 25.3 points per game.
Ogwumike has the Sparks playing well also. They are second in the Western Conference behind the undefeated Minnesota Lynx. With a 6-1 record, Ogwumike earned her first Player of the week award and was named the league’s Rookie of the Month for May. In a victory over the Phoenix Mercury, Ogwumike set career-highs with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
