An icon of rock ‘n’ roll opens Chateau Ste. Michelle’s Summer Concert series.

John Fogerty, 67, an original member of Creedence Clearwater Revival and long since a solo artist, is known for his gravely, roots-based rock.

His forthcoming album, “Wrote a Song for Everyone,” links Fogerty with peers, some of the younger musicians following in his large footsteps. On the album, he sings “Fortunate Son” with the Foo Fighters, “Born on the Bayou” with Kid Rock and “Proud Mary” with Jennifer Hudson.

Fogerty’s music always has straddled a fine line between country and rock. The album celebrates that with tracks featuring Alan Jackson and Bob Seger.

Although alienated from his CCR band mates, Fogerty still makes these timeless songs soar. In his plaid shirt, often with a black bandana taut at his neckline, Fogerty packs power, feeling and fun into his performances.

John Fogerty plays at 7 p.m. Saturday at Chateau Ste. Michelle, 14111 NE 145th St., Woodinville.

Tickets are $45 to $69.50 at ticketmaster.com, 800-745-3000 or at the winery.

The husband-and-wife powerhouse combination of Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks bring their blues band to the Paramount.

Both halves of the relationship have impressive blues pedigrees, but together as the Tedeschi-Trucks Band they’ve quickly risen to the top of the national blues scene.

Their first joint recording, “Revelator,” won a Grammy for best blues album.

Now, they’re touring the country sharing their awesome live performance with a growing fan base.

They also just released “Everybody’s Talkin’,” a live album now in stores.

The show is at 7:30 tonight at the Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St., Seattle.

Tickets are $25.75 to $61.25 in advance, or $28.75 to $64.25 on the day of the show. Buy them at stgpresents.org or 877-784-4849.

The Scissor Sisters, a disco punk glam band, swoop into the Paramount on Tuesday.

They hit the scene with a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” and continue to put out one rhythmic hit after another topping the Billboard Dance charts.

“Only the Horses” came out earlier this spring.

Rye Rye is opening.

Catch the high-energy show at 8 p.m. Tuesday, The Paramount, 911 Pine St., Seattle.

Tickets are $31 in advance, $33.25 day of the show at www.stgpresents.org or 877-784-4849.

Out of the thriving music scene in Athens, Ga., came the B-52s. It seems only right to kick off summer with this lively, eclectic and danceable band.

From “Love Shack” to “Roam,” the B-52s are peppy, upbeat and fun.

The hilarious and energetic Fred Schneider and Kate Pierson front the group and there shouldn’t be a dull moment.

So pack your “Rock Lobster,” and catch the B-52s at 8 p.m. Thursday, Concerts at Marymoor, 6046 W. Lake Sammamish Parkway NE, Redmond.

Tickets are $45 to $65 at www.ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000.
