Overheard on the police beat


“Do you remember that girl on Casino Road who's always squatting in sheds and whatnot?”

“I really want to do a traffic stop on him, but I don't know where he's at.”

“The deputy tracked down the guy, and he was indeed naked.”

“She thinks he might be up to some illegal activities, which is probably right.”

Cop to cop: “When you pull in, try not to hit the parked cars.”

“Caller saw a man in the bushes outside Safeway who appeared to be pulling up his pants. He's now on a bicycle. Correction: That's another man on the bicycle.”

Medic: “Our patient walked away from us. I don't need EPD.”

Dispatcher: “Adult female, chopped her thumb with an axe … They don't know if it's attached or not … caller said they can't look.”
