Attend: Art exhibit to help DVS
The Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County is hosting an art exhibit starting at 5:30 p.m. July 12 at the Schack Art Center, 2921 Hoyt Ave. in Everett. Tickets are $35 per person.
Proceeds would benefit the DVS Capital Campaign to build a new confidential shelter.
People can enjoy appetizers and champagne and see 14 paintings from local artist Bernie Webber.
The public can see the exhibit from July 13 to Aug. 2.

Help: Barbers and beauticians needed
Providence Hospice &Home Care of Snohomish County is looking for barbers or beauticians, who are licensed in the state, to volunteer by providing haircuts to hospice patients at their homes in Everett and south county.
The frequency may be between two and six patients a month.

Donate: Lions Club to hold blood drive
The Oak Harbor Lions Club is sponsoring a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 5, at the First United Methodist Church, 1050 SE Ireland St., Oak Harbor. The blood drive is to benefit the Puget Sound Blood Center. Register at www.psbc.org or call 1-800-398-7888. Walk-ins are accepted.
There will be treats and beverages for donors.
Help: Volunteers needed for soup kitchen
The Salt for the Earth Soup Kitchen is in need of volunteers to help prepare, cook, serve and clean up starting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. 2531 Hoyt Ave. Everett.
Volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds and go up and down stairs. The group also is looking for a box truck to pick up food for food banks in Snohomish County.

Eat: Everett eatery to help shelter
The Shawn O’Donnell’s American Grill and Irish Pub is helping the Family Shelter in Everett by donating 20 percent of all sales from 5 p.m. to closing time July 11. A raffle and a silent auction are planned for the evening.

Help: Trail work at the Japanese Gulch
The Japanese Gulch Group is inviting people to help improve trails and build bridges at the lower area of the gulch from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Volunteers are scheduled to meet at the parking lot off Fifth Street in Mukilteo.
Most tools will be provided, but volunteers can bring their own equipment.
