YAKIMA — The Everett AquaSox scored three runs in the eighth inning en route to a 6-3 victory over the Yakima Bears in a Northwest League baseball game on Saturday night.
It was the third consecutive win for Everett (27-9), which wrapped up the West Division’s first-half title with a 2-1 win Friday and clinched a playoff berth for the second time in three years.
The AquaSox trailed 3-2 going into the eighth inning, but Taylor Ard had an RBI double and Michael Faulkner hit an RBI single as Everett scored three runs to take a 5-3 lead. The AquaSox added another run in the ninth when Marcus Littlewood walked with the bases loaded.
Littlewood hit his fourth home run of the year to give Everett its first run in the second inning. After Yakima (20-15) scored two runs in the third, Faulkner’s RBI single scored Patrick Kivlehan in the fourth inning to even the score at 2-2.
Yakima took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth on Ronnie Freeman’s RBI single.
