ANA: Five Boeing 787s need repairs

The launch customer for Boeing Co.'s Dreamliner jet temporarily grounded five 787s for repairs.

All Nippon Airways halted flights on the five 787s in response to a problem identified last week by engine-maker Rolls-Royce with the engine gearbox. Two of the five airplanes have been fixed and returned to service, ANA said on Monday.

Rolls identified a corrosion problem with the Trent 1000 engine gearbox. As a result, the carrier has swapped out seven engines on five 787s.
