Waterfront buildings to be razed starting today

Workers are scheduled to begin pulling down buildings today, Monday, in the 1400 block of West Marine View Drive, as part of an environmental cleanup project. This is the same site that used to be home to Scuttlebutt Brewing Co.

The demolition project is expected to take three months. The construction hours are restricted to Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. No demolition work will occur on Sundays so as not to conflict with the Everett Farmers Market.

The port plans to clean up the site using state and port money and redevelop it with a mix of housing, retail, restaurant space and other community spaces.

If you have any complaints about noise, direct them to 425-388-0269 and leave a message. Those that call the line and need immediate assistance will be provided a number for the security department, who will contact the project manager. This information can also be found on the port's website.
