Overnight closures are planned on U.S. 2 Wednesday and Thursday near Snohomish to allow for work on the planned Bickford Avenue overpass ramp.
Crews plan to close all lanes of westbound U.S. 2 near Bickford Avenue from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights to place temporary barriers and paint new lane stripes on the roadway.
Crews also are scheduled to close the on-ramps to westbound U.S. 2 from Bickford Avenue and Highway 9 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. A detour will take drivers around the closure using Highway 9 and 20th Street SE.
Looking ahead, full closures of eastbound U.S. 2 between the trestle and Bickford Avenue are planned for the weekend of Aug. 3-6 so crews can remove and replace deteriorating culverts underneath the highway. Drivers will follow a signed detour using 20th Street Southeast and SR 9.
The work is part of the $20 million U.S. 2-Bickford Avenue overpass ramp project. For more information go to to the state’s project page.
