7th District candidate Hughes in Lynnwood
Democratic 7th Congressional District candidate Andrew Hughes will appear in Lynnwood on Thursday at 8 p.m.
Hughes will tour the Lynwood headquarters of clean-energy automaker Wikispeed at 21002 44th Ave. W. in Lynnwood, and talk about incumbent Democratic Congressman Jim McDermott's proposed coal-train tax and about clean energy.
The automaker is in the small part of Lynnwood that is in the 7th District along with Edmonds, Woodway, nearby unincorporated areas of southwest Snohomish County, Shoreline, Lake Forest Park and most of Seattle.
Hughes is challenging Democratic incumbent McDermott in the Aug. 7 primary along with fellow Democrats Charles Allen and Doc Rivers, Republicans Scott Sutherland and Ron Bemis, and independent Goodspaceguy with the top two vote-getters advancing to the Nov. 6 general election.
