DelBene leads Burner in congressional poll
Republican John Koster, the only GOP candidate in the seven-person race, continues to lead overall in the phone poll conducted earlier this week by SurveyUSA for KING5.
You can find details and analysis by KING5's Robert Mak here.
Koster received support from 38 percent of those polled followed by DelBene with 17 percent and Burner with 13 percent. Among Democrats, Laura Ruderman received 6 percent, Steve Hobbs 5 percent and Darshan Rauniyar 2 percent.
The numbers would seem to indicate DelBene's steady stream of mailers and television ads are working to get her known and win her support among voters.
Her ability to self-fund -- DelBene's personal investment in the race is nearing $2 million -- has become an issue on which she is getting attacked by Burner. At a forum Wednesday, Burner accused her opponent of trying to buy a victory.
DelBene has poured in $1.9 million of her own money including $900,000 between July 1 and July 18, the period covered in the latest reports filed with the Federal Election Commission. She's also raised nearly $540,000 from individuals, party organizations and political action committees.
Information on all the candidates can be found here by clicking on the state of Washington.
