Someone called 911 from Arlington on Wednesday night to report being robbed during a drug deal.
The victim had planned to buy $20 worth of heroin, but the dealer took the money and fled, investigators learned.
It’s not clear if the victim mentioned all of that during initial conversations with emergency dispatchers.
Arlington officers spoke with the victim at the scene, a parking lot at the corner of 172nd Street NE and Smokey Point Boulevard.
“He then had to explain it to us, and finally it came out that this was a drug deal,” city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said Thursday.
Investigators believe the drug dealer was armed at the time.
The victim decided not to press charges. No serious injuries were reported.
