Teen arrested in Granite Falls with rifle in pants

A teenage boy was arrested in Granite Falls on Monday night after neighbors reported seeing him walking down the street with a rifle in his pants.

Officers found the boy in the 100 block of E. Galena Street who matched the suspect description, Granite Falls Police Chief Dennis Taylor said.

The boy reportedly ran from officers, who saw the stocks of at least two rifles on him during the chase, Taylor said.

The boy was stopped with a Taser, arrested and taken to the Denney Juvenile Justice Center for investigation of resisting arrest and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Both of the shotguns on him were found to be stolen, Taylor said. The boy is suspected of a separate burglary involving missing firearms as well.

The investigation is ongoing.
