If you’re rippin’ past Cabela’s around 11 a.m. Saturday, you might want to swing in (exit 200 or 202 off I-5) and hit the free seminar on trolling plugs for Snohomish River coho. Les “Freespool” Pederson is an expert at the art of pulling Brad’s Wigglers for autumn silvers — a notoriously tough species to catch. Pederson says trolling is just as effective as tossing spoons, and a lot easier to learn, particularly for kids and other less-experienced fishermen.
He will cover equipment, plug choices and tuning, sizes and colors, proper techniques and the best water on the Snohomish, from the trestle up.
After Pederson’s presentation, make it a twofer by drifting over to the Cutlery Counter for a presentation on big-game calls. See and hear what an electronic call can do for your next big-game hunt.
