Seahawks agree to terms with Owens

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer is reporting the Seahawks have agreed to terms with free-agent wide receiver Terrell Owens.

Well, Seahawks training camp just got a bit more interesting. On the same day that Seattle hosted Terrell Owens for a tryout, the Seahawks announced they have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the 38-year-old receiver.

Owens, who in his prime was one of the best receivers in NFL history, has not played in the NFL since he caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns with the Bengals in 2010. He tore his ACL last offseason, then was unable to find a spot on an NFL roster for the 2011 season after attempting a comeback. He played briefly for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League.

A six-time Pro Bowler, Owens has the second most receiving yards in NFL history with 15,934 and is tied with Randy Moss for the second most receiving touchdowns with 153. He has also been known to be a distraction almost everywhere he has gone, however, leading to questions about how he will fit in with a young locker room.

And of course signing Owens in early August does not mean the Seahawks will still employ Owens once the season starts--just ask Antonio Bryant about that--but that they have gone this far in the process shows that Pete Carroll thinks Owens just might have something left in the tank.

This much we do know for sure. Tuesday's training camp practice just got a lot more interesting.
