Man hit and killed by car in Index; driver sought

INDEX -- A man was killed after being struck by a car early Sunday morning along Index-Galena Road.

The driver reportedly left the scene of the 12:30 a.m. crash, Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Monday.

The man was taken via helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died.

Detectives are looking for the car and driver, Ireton said.

Additional details about the victim and what happened were not immediately available.
