Kids fun day: Calvary’s Kids Fun Day is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. today at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2532 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. The event will include cupcake walks, bobbing for apples, face painting, popcorn and games. Information: 425-252-6775.

Salmon barbecue: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Everett’s Eastmont area will host its fourth annual salmon barbecue 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, following the 10 a.m. service. The barbecue is a ministry of the Rev. John Greeny, pastor emeritus at Prince of Peace and a former pastor at Everett’s Trinity Lutheran Church. Greeny also worked with the Seattle police chaplaincy. Free-will donations requested. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is at 9320 Meadow Way, Everett.

Harpist in Snohomish: Harpist Bronn Journey will play at concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Snohomish, 1306 Lake View Ave. The public is welcome at the concert sponsored by the church’s Fellowship Division. Holy Hawg Roast: The 19th annual Holy Hawg Roast, sponsored by Consider This Ministries, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at 6025 Grandview Road, Arlington. Rock the Block Party: View Ridge Community Church, 4800 Dogwood Drive, Everett, will host a Rock the Block Party 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 25. Happiness lesson: “Your Happiness is Guaranteed” is the topic of a lesson to be presented by the Rev. Barbara Wilson at the 10 a.m. service Sunday at Everett Unity Center for Positive Living. An ordained Unity minister since 1990, she has served in Port Angeles and Moline, Ill. She is regional representative for the Unity Northwest Region. An accountant, she has been on the Finance and Budget team for the Association of Unity Churches and served as treasurer of the Unity Northwest Region. Free meals, clothing

Meals in Everett: Gold Creek Community Church hosts a free hot meal and provides sack lunches 5-6 p.m. the first, third and fifth Sunday of every month in the parking lot of Central Lutheran Church, 2702 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Clothes available some days.

Salt of the Earth Soup Kitchen: noon Tuesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Free sack lunches or hot meals served to the homeless, low-income seniors and families, and kids on the street. Volunteers, able to lift 50 pounds and use stairs, are needed to help cook, set up, serve and clean up. Contact Sandra, 425-355-1042.

The Open Table: Marysville United Methodist Church hosts a free community lunch 1-2:30 p.m. third Thursday of each month. Church is at 5600 64th St. NE, Marysville. To volunteer or donate, call 360-659-8521.
