Ballard Sedentary Sousa Band in Edmonds
The Ballard Sedentary Sousa Band will perform the greatest hits of marching band music, 3 p.m. Aug. 26 in Edmonds City Park, Third Avenue and Pine Street.
The band – one part military tradition and one part circus sideshow – remains seated to take the audience on a storytelling adventure.
The group also features the world’s only sedentary majorette, Edith Farrar, better known locally as the Edmonds children’s librarian.
Admission is free. In the event of rain, the concert will be cancelled at 2:30 p.m.
Arts commission seeks artists
The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission is seeking paintings, prints, drawings, miniatures, calligraphy, photographs, 3-D and artisans’ works for its 34th annual Juried Art Show.

Driftwood auditioning for ‘Music Man’
The Edmonds Driftwood Players is holding auditions for “The Music Man,” noon Sept. 8 and 3 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Driftwood Rehearsal Annex, 200 Dayton St., Edmonds.
There are parts for six women and five men of all ages, plus ensemble.
Auditioners should prepare a one-minute monologue and 32 measures of a well-marked song not from “The Music Man.” A second song may be requested.
Auditioners should provide a headshot and resume.

‘Murder on the Nile’ at Driftwood
Driftwood Players present one of Agatha Christie’s best mysteries, “Murder on the Nile.”
Performances are 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 7-23, at the Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds.
