Man, 91, assaulted at Everett store; suspect, 26, held

EVERETT -- Police arrested a suspect Friday after a 91-year-old Everett man was assaulted and robbed at a gas station convenience store, officials said.
The victim was walking toward the cashier just before 1:30 p.m. when he was attacked, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said.
The incident occurred in the 9900 block of 19th Avenue SE.
The suspect is an Everett man, 26.
He's accused of striking the victim multiple times in the head, face and body before taking his money and running off, Snell said. Everett police made the arrest about a block from the store.
The victim was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for treatment of facial injuries.
Snell expected that the suspect would be booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of assault and for outstanding warrants.
