The alternative rock band Smashing Pumpkins, which rose to critical acclaim during the 1990s, released a new album in June and will bring it to Everett's Comcast Arena on Oct. 10.
Smashing Pumpkins is kicking off its U.S. tour at Comcast and plans to play its new album "Oceania" in full.
But don't worry, Pumpkins fans. The group will still perform a set of classics and deep cuts.
The group's appearance will include frontman and Pumpkins creator, singer and guitarist Billy Corgan, guitarist Jeff Schroeder, drummer Mike Byrne and bassist Nicole Fiorentino.

"Oceania" earned the No. 1 spot on the Independent Albums Chart in June. The album entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at No. 4.
Known and acclaimed for its music videos, the Pumpkins will perform against a backdrop of visuals prepared by Sean Evans, whose most recent project was assisting Roger Waters on the latest staging of "The Wall."
The Pumpkins will use new technology in video-mapping to create something previously unseen, according to press material about the show.
"Oceania" is a 13-song collection intended for listeners to fully immerse themselves in. Marking The Pumpkins seventh studio record and seventh Top Ten album, it is "an album within an album," part of its 44-song work-in-progress "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope," the press release said.
Many critics are calling "Oceania" some of the best stuff Corgan has done since the 1990s.
The Smashing Pumpkins will perform at 7:30 Oct. 10 at Comcast, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
Tickets are $49.50 and $39.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 7. Online at www.comcastarenaeverett.com or call 866-332-8499.
