Seahawks make cuts to get to 53-man limit
The full list of moves is below, but first a few highlights.
--The Seahawks released QB Josh Portis, meaning they'll go into the season with two quarterback on the roster (unless, of course, they add someone that was let go by another team, which is entirely possible).
--Guard James Carpenter, who is recovering from knee surgery, is on the active roster, not the physically unable to perform list. That comes on the heels of Pete Carroll speaking positively about Carpenter's progress earlier in the week, and the fact that he's not on the PUP list means the Seahawks think Carpenter will be back relatively soon (players on the PUP list are not eligible to return to action until after the sixth week of the season).
--Charly Martin getting (presumably) the last receiver spot over Deon Butler is a bit of a surprise, but nothing shocking if you watched the way Martin play in the preseason.
--Fifth-round pick Korey Toomer was Seattle's only 2012 draft pick to miss the cut.
--RB Kregg Lumpkin making the cut was a bit of a surprise.

So as of now, here is the Seahawks' 53-man roster. But remember, the roster as it stands today will almost certainly look different by the time Seattle travels to Arizona next week. Thanks to improved talent and depth, Seattle's post-cut-day roster churn won't likely be as significant as it was the past two years, but a move or two seems inevitable.
