Edmonds police hold an open house Sunday

EDMONDS -- The Edmonds Police Department plans an open house Sunday as part of its ongoing centennial celebration.
People are invited to visit the police station, 250 Fifth Ave. N., from noon to 5 p.m.
The open house will include police station tours, in addition to displays and exhibits of police vehicles and equipment, Sgt. Mike Blackburn said. The department's police dog team will be there, too.
The event is to include the unveiling of three new historically themed murals painted inside the station by Edmonds artist Andy Eccleshall.
The murals feature designs of the original police station and the department's patches and badges. The murals were paid for by internal fundraisers and donations from community groups.
The department turns 100 on Oct. 16.
As part of the centennial celebration, "Stick 'Em Up! Celebrating 100 years of the Edmonds Police Department" is an ongoing exhibit at the Edmonds Historical Museum, 118 Fifth Ave. N.
The museum is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
Suggested donations are $2 per child and $5 per adult.
