    King's quarterback Billy Green didn't win the popular vote by fans but he got enough votes from Herald writers to be this week's Football Player of the Week.

The Knights quarterback (above) was 18-for-31 for 312 yards and threw five touchdowns in the No. 1-ranked King's 40-15 win over Archbishop Murphy on Thursday. It was the first win by the Knights over the Wildcats and the first loss suffered by Murphy on its home field to a conference opponent since the football team was established in 2000.

Edmonds-Woodway | Girls soccer
The Warriors freshman forward scored two goals in each of E-W's league wins and had four goals in a win over Eastlake as the Warriors went 3-0 last week. Schultz had two second-half goals in a 2-1 win over Wesco South rival Jackson and had two goals and an assist in a 3-0 win over Kamiak.

Stanwood | Volleyball
The senior setter averaged 29.5 assists per match last week as the Spartans went 2-0 with a pair of five-set wins over Meadowdale and Marysville Pilchuck. Hansen had 30 assists over the defending Wesco 3A champ Mavericks.

Marysville Getchell | Boys tennis
The Chargers No. 3 singles player won both of his matches last week as Marysville Getchell won its first two matches ever. Manhas beat Oak Harbor's Carter Saar 6-3, 6-4 and was Getchell's only singles victory in its 4-3 win over the Wildcats.

Jackson | Boys cross country
The Timberwolves harrier finished sixth at the South Whidbey Invitational to help Jackson take first overall and was fifth in Jackson's win over Mountlake Terrace.

Lynnwood | Girls cross country
The Royals distance runner finished first in the Division 2 girls race at the South Whidbey Invitational as Lynnwood finished third as a team. She also took second behind Meadowdale's Haley Saurez as the Royals took third.

Cascade | Girls swimming
The Bruins swimmer won the 200 individual medley and led two Cascade relay teams to victory in a pair of wins over Monroe and Mount Vernon on Tuesday and then won the 200 free and 100 fly -- the fly in state-qualifying time -- in a win over Lake Stevens.
